SOCKiT WENCHES - Dixie Dragstrip No. 454 As a vintage hot rod mechanic, Dixie has been breaking hearts and bones in Seattle since her early 20's. Now in her 30's, Dixie thought she had everything she needed, a hot car, a good man, some great skates...but, she felt that there was something missing in her life, but she could never seem to put her finger on it... Living near Alki Beach in West Seattle, Dixie was skating along the waterfront near twilight one evening. Just as the first stars began to twinkle, the metal screws holding her right kneecap together began to sizzle... Off in the distance, she saw a group of hot skaters in electric blue outfits. They saw her too and they waved her over. They were tough roller derby gals that not only skated on a team known as the Sockit Wenches, they were also mechanics! Dixie knew that roller derby was the oil that her engine needed to purr like a kitten - so she joined them and never looked back!
