SOCKiT WENCHES - Anya Heels - No. 6 shooter

Anya Heels lived with her family in a small room off the back of Earl’s auto garage where Mrs. Heels wrenched out a modest living. Barely able to provide for her children, Anya’s mother kept them entertained by teaching them the finer points of auto repair. Anya and her siblings excelled at their new skill and Mrs. Heels knew it would be a good source of revenue for them one day.

Late one night, Anya was helping her mother finish a transmission job for the local skating rink owner. This high-profile job needed to be completed before tomorrow since it was the biggest event of the year. “The Cruise” marked the beginning of summer and all the local roller derby girls and muscle car fanatics would put on a show as they cruised the strip at sundown. Anya and her mother had been working for hours when a tragic accident struck. The car jack snapped with Mrs. Heels still under the car. Anya struggled to get her out. Doctors tried to save her but the weight of the car was too much for her body to sustain.

Feeling guilty for what happened, the rink owner couldn’t help but take Anya and her siblings in and raise them as his own children. As the years passed, the Heels kids grew to love skating, even Anya.

Anya was never quite the same after the accident and her anger and frustration grew into aggression and destruction. The rink owner knew that Anya needed an outlet for her hostility so he suggested that she meet some of the local roller girls. He hoped she might make some friends and finally get over her mother’s death.

Fearful of riding in the car that crushed her mother, Anya insisted that she skate to the strip. Upon her arrival she noticed a group of girls in wearing blue uniforms. Curious, she lingered outside their group to listen to their conversation. She realized they were talking about her and once they noticed that she was eavesdropping they invited her over. They expressed their sympathy for her mother’s accident and invited her to skate with their team. They heard all about her skill on wheels and her skill in the garage and knew that the passion and aggression in her eyes would be perfect for the team.

Right away Anya felt that these “Sockit Wenches” were family. She knew that their shared aggression and passion for destruction would make them an unbeatable combination.
