collected from the first year of the Rat City Rollergirls. 2004 was an historic time for roller derby
in Seattle. Some of the skaters that contributed countless hours of planning, fundraising
and training are no longer actively skating with Rat City. Some of them, like Lisa Lawless
and Billie Boilermaker have moved out of the Seattle area but continue to participate
in the sport they love. Others are still actively crackin' heads with Rat City. Enjoy

The October 2004 edition of Tablet is out! The Events/Music section features the Rat City Rollergirl Freakshow and Talent Showcase that's happening on Thursday, October 28th at the Comet Tavern.
On Sunday, October 3, 2004, Elysia Smith, writer from the Tacoma News Tribune explains the trials and tribulations of trying out for the Rat City Rollergirls in an article titled, Roller derby risk-taker. May 13, 2004 -- "Tough non-assholes!"
A real nice mention was made of us in The Stranger (Vol 13 No. 35, May 13 - May 19 2004) by Kathleen Wilson. Here’s what she said:
"The tough non-assholes Rat City Rollergirls , a roller-derby team who've been gracious enough to invite me into their fold (to observe and relive the passion I had for the old televised, weekly sport I watched as a bruiser-lovin' 4-year-old) are having a fundraiser on Sunday, May 16, at the Fun House, featuring bands Ball with Tail and Chronic Disorder. Demon of the Derby: The Ann Calvello Story will be screened, as well as Bay City Bombers, the awesome 1972 roller-derby film featuring Raquel Welch as the hottest roller warrior you'll ever see. Things kick off at 4:00 p.m., and it's give what you can."
