Rollergirls Clean Up White Center AKA Rat City! White Center Spring Clean
Saturday, May 19, 2007

On Saturday, the Rat City Rollergirls, together with Rat City referees, and friends and family stopped arguing about which Rat City Rollergirl has the most vicious hip check and picked up brooms and garbage bags to take part in the fourth annual White Center Spring Clean of Rat City! This year's event was an amazing success! The special finds for this years roadway cleanup included corn cobs and rubber nipples! For more event information about the great community of White Center, skate on over to the WCCDA website at www.wccda.org.

SEATTLE DERBY BRATS
[formerly known as Pathfinder Junior Derby] Rat City Rollergirls proudly supports the young ladies of the Seattle Derby Brats, headed up by Betty Ford Galaxy! For more information, check out the Junior Flat Track Derby Association.

The Tootsy Rollers (ages 6-10) play “flag derby” with no contact, while the Brats (ages 11-17) play a modified version of the WFTDA rules that excludes full body checks and hip checks. However, they still do shoulder checks along with whips and other team assists. Questions can be directed to: seattlejuniorderby@gmail.com

IN THE NEWS!
The Rat City Rollergirls are proud of our community! And when good things happen in our community, we want to share the good news! Check out some of the great things happening in White Center A.K.A. Rat City:
ROADWAY CLEANUP - NOV 5, 2006
Darcy Rant and Dixie Dragstrip find a smashed banana! The Rat City Rollergirls are at it again! On Sunday, November 5, 2006, the Rollergirls braved the punishing rain and set out to clean up 16th Ave. SW in White Center. We used the divide and conquer method, starting in the middle of our section of road and sending out crews in each direction to tackle the trash! When we regrouped again, we all looked like drowned rats from the rain continued to pour even as we piled up the bags of roadside rubbish for County crews to collect. Having made a contribution to our community, we quickly scurried off to Taquerias Guayamas for a supper fit for a Rollergirl!
NORTH HIGHLINE FIRE DEPARTMENT
North Highline Fire Department The Rat City Rollergirls would like to thank the North Highline Fire Department for coming out to the third annual Black Top Brawl! The North Highline Fire Department, together with their chief, Russ Prichard, serves approximately 40,000 citizens in a 9-square mile area located south of the Seattle city limits (RAT CITY!!!). Their service area includes both a portion of unincorporated King County and the City of Burien. 35 paid and 48 volunteer firefighters provide fire suppression and rescue services from two fire stations, which are staffed 24 hours a day.
Greenbridge Grand Opening Celebration

On Friday, July 7, 2006, the Rat City Rollergirls were out supporting their community at the Greenbridge Grand Opening Celebration in our namesake commmunity of White Center AKA Rat City. We joined a few of our favorite community organizations, including the White Center Community Development Association, and U.S. Senator Patty Murray, Congressman Jim McDermott, King County Executive Ron Sims, King County Councilmember Dow Constantine, Greenbridge Foundation partners, and the White Center community at a barbecue celebrating the grand opening of Greenbridge and the groundbreaking for the Jim Wiley Community Center.

Rat City Rollergirls help clean up 16th Ave. SW in White Center
Rat City Rollergirl Community Care Organizer, mommacherry led the Rat City Rollergirls as they cleaned up their adopted road, 16th Ave. SW in White Center on Earth Day. The clean up was a huge success, as countless numbers of contractor sized garbage bags were filled with litter and removed from the area. Afterwards the Rollergirls spent a bit of time at one of their favorite White Center watering holes, The Pacific Rim Brewing Company
